Discover Rabos, the heart of Empordà

Rabós, a small medieval town nestled in the Alt-Empordà of Catalunya, is a hidden paradise within the Albera Natural Park. Surrounded by the rugged Costa Brava coastline and the majestic Pyrenees, this region has a rich winemaking history, with many local producers and ancient cooperatives. One such cooperative, the Cooperativa Sant Julià, was established in the 1960’s and boasts over 30 historic cement tanks. This old bodega is now the home for our wines.

A person with long gray hair, wearing a gray t-shirt and black shorts, is working at a desk in a winery or distillery. Behind them are large wine barrels and a chalkboard with a heart drawing and the words 'Bones' and 'Jesters' written on it. There are string lights overhead and various equipment on the desk.

In the Albera Natural Park lives an almost extinct tortoise. This fragile creature is the inspiration behind our name and our creative identity. The way we care for our vineyards supports the turtle’s habitat, making our work beneficial for its survival.

The journey to Vinyes Tortuga

After a year of working the fields in the Empordà, we came across a 9.5-hectare plot for sale near Rabós, complete with a small house in its center. Thanks to the support of our community, through crowdfunding , we were able to buy it and, since 2018, we have been its proud caretakers. From the very beginning, we found also a space to make our wines in the old cooperative building of Rabós.

What started as a temporary workplace, quickly became a second home. After standing empty for 25 years, the buildig was waiting for a new purpose. We were able to purchase it from its previous owner, bringing it back to life.

Vinyes Tortuga was born.

Why Tortuga?

Two young men working in a winery or cellar, filling large containers with dark liquid, possibly wine. The space has a rustic, industrial look with brick walls and wooden barrels.

The new generation

Our intention for the building is to revive it, creating a lively production floor where we craft vibrant natural wines. Alongside this, we realized our vision to create the restaurant Analogic, a space where food and wine come together in harmony.

Rabós, with its rich medieval history and endless trekking opportunities, will soon be known for its locally grown food, our natural wines, and a welcoming atmosphere that invites everyone to experience its beauty.
